this is amazing!

Finally: all of my letters properly organized/categorized.

I have kept every letter I have ever received, starting with my very first pen pal, my Australian Grandmother.  I have always kept them well organized (chronologically, of course), and as the years progressed I was forced to keep upgrading the box they were stored in.  Back in October, while looking at the postal marks for tattoo inspiration, I bundled them all by year.  Since January and the start of my thesis work, I’ve been taking all of the letters out of their envelopes and placing everything in clear sheet protectors.
I am finally caught up.
Not pictured are the twenty-four letters and post cards I have received so far in 2012.  I need another binder.

It’s been an interesting experience revisiting all of these letters.  Some of them I doubt I’ve looked at since I first read and responded to them.  The next step will be to actually count them all (I’m estimating at least 200?), and colour-code mark (with post-its) my long-standing pen pals, etc.

January 2009 was when I first started Someone To Write to, and thus has its own binder.
